Proudly distilling Since December 2014
It was during the solar transit of the Winter Solstice sun in 2014, that saw the revered tradition of distilling Irish Whiskey, return to the Western province of Connacht. During this 21st of December, PJ and Denise Rigney, along with their dedicated team of distillers, laid down the first whiskey in Connacht in over 101 years. In fact, the distillation began even before the building of new distillery was even completed – PJ & Head Distiller, Brian Taft, have always been incredibly passionate and dedicated to their endeavours. With this, theShedDistillery of PJ Rigney was born, and PJ, always true to his endeavours, began his quest to distil only the most premium of Irish Spirits.

This is as close as you can get to making the stuff yourself. The Jackalope restaurant is amazing so too the gift shop and bar. The staff were all just so friendly and helpful. Amazing visit”.

This place was such a gem to experience. So authentic. The tour have a beautiful story. The place has some of the best decor and set up I’ve ever seen. Felt like we were in a museum. It really was an experience. All of your senses are used. Would def go again. And the glass botanical bar is so beautiful you won’t want to leave!
